There is a long and ancient tradition across many cultures of using water for therapeutic purposes. When you submerge yourself in a pool of water, your body is relieved from the constant pull of gravity. It has been suggested that the pressure exerted by a whirlpool bath stimulates the nerves which carry impulses felt at the skin deeper into the body, where they are instrumental in stimulating the immune system, invigorating digestion and encouraging blood flow.

The special water at the Five Senses Spa comes from the spring at Berkeley Springs State Park, which directly adjoins the Spa's property. For over 200 years, visitors have come to Berkeley Springs to drink and bathe in this medicinal water that is so rich in minerals. Two of our three hydrotherapy rooms have a view of this beautiful park where you can actually see the water's source. Five Senses Spa's hydrotherapy rooms each have a whirlpool bath large enough to comfortably seat two people in a tranquil and private setting so you can share the treatment with a friend. Bathing suites are not required while bathing in our whirlpool tubs. No one under the age of 14 may use our whirlpool tub.
